South west London expecting property boom

Wealthy Americans are helping boost property prices in the affluent south London suburb of Battersea, after the US embassy was given the green light to move from Mayfair to a futuristic, cube-shaped building in Battersea. The move has prompted a 60% rise in American buyers in the area on last year. There is a 50-floor residential tower being built in the area and plans afoot to turn the derelict Battersea Power Station next door to the embassy into 3,700 luxury homes and 1.6 million square feet of office space.
